Climate Action Strategic Lead (PO6)

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Climate Action Strategic Lead to join our team and drive our organization's efforts towards addressing climate change. As the Climate Action Strategic Lead, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to mitigate the impact of climate change and promote sustainable practices within our organization and the wider community. This is a crucial position that requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of climate change issues.

Responsibilities
Develop and lead the implementation of our organization's climate action plan, ensuring alignment with global and local climate change targets and strategies.
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on climate change trends, policies, and technologies to inform decision-making and strategy development.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate climate action into key organizational functions, such as operations, procurement, and finance.
Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups, to foster partnerships and advance climate action initiatives.
Track and report progress, both internally and externally, on our organization's climate action goals and targets.
Lead the development and delivery of climate change awareness and education programs for our staff, clients, and the wider community.
Stay informed about emerging best practices and innovations in climate action and share knowledge with colleagues and partners.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Proven experience in developing and implementing climate action strategies within large organizations or government agencies.
Deep knowledge of climate change science, policies, and international agreements such as the Paris Agreement.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and research findings.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of audiences.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate others towards climate action goals.
Knowledge of sustainable business practices and emerging technologies in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and carbon management.
