We have an 11-year-old young man with Cerebral Palsy who is looking for a Personal Assistant and lives at home with his parents and younger siblings. He is a positive and happy young man who has a great sense of humour and likes to be around people who can make him laugh.

This young man requires a Personal Assistant due to his condition affecting his limbs presenting in co-ordination difficulties. He is not independently mobile and relies on equipment such as a hoist for all his personal care, so experience in using the hoist and working with children with complex needs is desirable.

He also has oral dysphagia and an oversensitive gag reflex which causes poor swallowing and unclear speech, so an understanding of this or the willingness to learn would be advantageous.

The role of PA would be to support him eating, dressing and personal care during term time and the school holidays, also to assist the family in accessing the community on family days out. His likes are watching slap stick comedy and Youtube and playing on his Xbox. He loves animal too.

Training will be given where needed and the PA will need to have a clean driving licence, as may use the family’s mobility vehicle.

There are no pets at this property.

Closing date: This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.

At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
