Summary

Join us as a Payments Regulatory Liaison Manager

  • This is an opportunity to be part of a team who support bank executives' external engagement with regulators, government, trade bodies and payment schemes, shaping the evolving payments environment for our customers
  • You’ll be acting as a trusted adviser on regulatory and payment industry strategic issues
  • You'll be building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulators, while honing your payment regulatory expertise
  • For this hybrid role, you'll mainly work from home but will be required to go in the office once or twice a week

What you'll do

You’ll be managing relationships with and acting as a point of coordination for regulatory engagement for Payments Centre of Expertise. You'll ensure relevant individuals are aware of issues of importance to regulators, driving consistency and alignment, which will inform our payment strategy.

You’ll also be:

  • Providing high level professional support and advice to the leadership team for the Chief Payments Officer and other senior executives, including producing concise, high quality board and committee papers and other internal briefings
  • Providing support, advice and challenge to regulatory matters pertaining to the relevant business area
  • Providing support and advice on material payment regulatory reviews
  • Overseeing the successful execution of the relevant business area’s responses to regulator reviews and requests
  • Advising the leadership team for the relevant business area on the escalation of issues raised through external industry engagement

The skills you'll need

You’ll have experience of the banking industry, regulatory and commercial environment alongside knowledge of the regulatory requirements pertaining to complex listed financial service organisations.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Strong evidence of extensive senior stakeholder engagement
  • A proven capability to manage operational and regulatory priorities effectively and to deliver under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to translate complex information into business focused intelligence
  • A robust understanding of risk management principles and risk culture
  • A proven ability to demonstrate decisiveness and sound judgement on a consistent basis
