Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Farm Manager/Technician to join a rapidly expanding poultry farm in Shropshire. This is a full-time position offering a salary up to £40,000 per year with enhanced benefits including an attractive profit share bonus scheme, three-bedroom accommodation, company vehicle and phone, and much more!

As the Assistant Farm Manager/Technician your tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and managing the welfare of 230,000 birds across 4 sheds.
• Managing and monitoring ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter, lighting and cleanliness on the farm, ensuring the highest quality conditions are provided.
• Keeping accurate records of service and maintenance activities.
• Providing daily reports to the Poultry Technical Manager.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Daily night checks and on-call duties as required.
• Coordinating with all departments involved in the poultry cycle (including Management, integrators, feed mills, chick suppliers).
• Providing holiday and absence cover for the Poultry Technical Manger on the farm and on the consultancy side of the business.

The Assistant Farm Manager/Technician will have the following skills and experience:

• Effective communication and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Agriculture is desirable but not essential.
• Previous experience working in a similar role or with livestock would be a distinct advantage.
• Hold a valid UK driver's license.

You will be expected to work on the farm in Shropshire and have a flexible approach to work and be available as per the needs of the business.
