Summary

THE POST

We are seeking to appoint a committed full-time (10PA) Consultant Paediatric and Perinatal Pathologist to join our experienced and highly motivated team. This post will include perinatal and coroner’s post mortem (autopsy) pathology, placental pathology, and routine paediatric surgical pathology.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

You will join a team of six other full and part time Consultant Paediatric and Perinatal Pathologists. The main responsibilities of this post would be:-
• Participation in the perinatal and hospital-consented autopsy service.
• Participation in the coroner’s autopsy service.
• Reporting placentas.
• Reporting routine paediatric surgical pathology, including gastrointestinal biopsies.
• Subspecialist reporting may be required to meet the needs of the department.
• Contribution to the paediatric oncology/neuro-oncology service.
• Involvement in relevant clinicopathological meetings and MDTs.
• Contribution to the training and supervision of junior medical staff.
