Summary

Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education connects exceptional supply staff with UK schools and nurseries. We provide teaching talent for permanent roles, temporary jobs, and everything in between.

Job Duties:
- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development
- Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students
- Providing one-to-one support to students as required
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) would be desirable

Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of different types of SEND and appropriate support strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and resilience

Working Conditions:
- Working in a school environment
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
- Potential interaction with students with challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
