Summary

Quality Improvement Investigator
Band 6, Full Time, hospital based

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Patient Safety Team as Quality Improvement Investigator.

Reporting to the Quality Improvement & Investigation Lead, as part of the wider Patient Safety Team, this post is responsible for the delivery of the Trust’s Quality Strategy and vision to ensure ‘Excellent Care for all’ through the delivery of safe, effective and high quality services, that ensure the people who use our services, their families, carers and visitors receive a positive experience.

Under the direction of the Quality Improvement & Investigation Lead the post holder will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise to support the review and investigation of those affected by patient safety events.

This will include the completion of Duty of Candour as required and actively engage with patients, families, carers and staff to seek input into the learning response and develop a shared understanding of what happened.

The Quality Improvement Investigator will be expected to liaise with those who have been affected by patient safety events and to produce meaningful learning responses for continuous quality improvement in line with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).

There will be a test/presentation at interview.

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust provide hospital and community services from a number of community and specialist clinics throughout Croydon.

These include:
• Croydon University Hospital
• Purley Hospital
• The Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre in Thornton Heath
• Community bases at Purley, Sanderstead, New Addington, Broad Green, Woodside
• A minor injuries unit in New Addington
