An exciting opportunity has arisen for a team administrator to work in our well-established, dynamic and friendly service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who will play a key role in supporting the work of the multidisciplinaryteam. The post holder will be responsible for the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the service. As the role requires a high degree of contact with service users, the post holder will need to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and people skills. In addition, effective management of time and prioritising tasks will be crucial. The post holder will liaise with members of the immediate Cancer Psychological Support (CaPS) team, colleagues in the wider cancer services, other clinical teams based at the Phoenix Centre and St George’s Hospital as a whole and service managers. The post holder will also need to be confident working with computer systems, including being able to familiarise themselves with clinical management systems used in St George’s Hospital.

The post holder will be supported in the role by an experienced clinical team and we will ensure a relevant induction to the post, training and regular supervision.

To provide administration support to ensure the efficient running of the Macmillan Cancer Psychological Support (CaPS) team including -
o As the first point of contact with the team, appropriately managing a range of queries from patients and other health professionals
o Co-ordinating all team correspondence with patients and other health professionals to ensure timely communication, including letter-writing and formatting
o Highly proficient use of Trust IT systems including iCLIP and EPR
o Accurate recording of team clinical activity, including obtaining and processing of clinical notes
o Holding responsibility for patient appointments, including arranging transport and interpreters as required
o Management of telephone queries from patients and staff, including appropriate escalation as needed
o Maintaining service referral database
o Maintaining adequate supplies of resources required by the team
o Assisting with audit and governance projects
o Ad hoc administrative tasks as required
