This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the General Surgery team based at Conquest Hospital. The General surgical department at ESHT is one of the highly rated units in the KSS Deanery as voted by the trainees with respect to supervised opportunities to develop all round surgical skills.



The postholder will be responsible for the care of inpatients and day patients under the direction of the Consultant Surgeons and will also be actively involved in elective and emergency theatres lists and various General Surgical and Colorectal clinics. There is a dedicated Surgical Assessment Unit on site at the Conquest Hospital which is a nationally recognised model of excellence.

You will be an integral part of the middle grade rota and be part of the EWTD compliant Hospital at Night team where you will be supported by an FY1 and/or CT1.

Previous experience in both Elective and Emergency Surgery at middle grade (Registrar equivalent) level within the NHS is essential. This post is not recognized for training. However this Trust is committed to providing a learning environment for all staff and as such we are offering the opportunity to rotate between the sub-specialties of General Surgery.
