Summary

A Vacancy at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Children’s Hospital is based on the John Radcliffe site and provides both DGH services as well as a Tertiary Centre role for specialist conditions including Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Neuromuscular, Neurorehabilitation, Oncology, Cystic Fibrosis and Paediatric & Neonatal Critical Care.

The post holder will support all areas of inpatient Physiotherapy and lead the Physiotherapy input for children on the Neurorehabilitation Pathway, working closely in the dedicated multi-disciplinary team.

The Children’s Neurorehabilitation Service was established in Oxford in March 2016. We are referred patients from Paediatric Critical Care, District General Hospitals or wards from within the Children’s Hospital. The service aims to provide intensive and holistic multidisciplinary input and co-ordinate discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition of patients from hospital back into the community. Patients may have weekends at home enabling them to access their support network and reintegrate into their normal life but also highlight problem areas which the MDT can help them address whilst receiving intensive Neurorehabilitation. The successful post holder will play a key role in assisting with input for patients on the Neurorehabilitation pathway and work closely within the MDT to plan their discharge. The post holder will also provide cross cover for the wider inpatient Physiotherapy caseload across all specialities as appropriate.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research. Find out more here www.ouh.nhs.uk
