Summary
CCTV CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR (2x Part time roles)
As a CCTV Operator you will be responsible for the pro-active and reactive monitoring and control of cameras and the operation of video recording equipment. You'll work closely with the stakeholders, including the police, ensuring the safety of public spaces within the scope of the systems and assisting with enquiries where appropriate
You will also be responsible for:
• Capturing and reviewing footage
• Responding to requests and queries from the police and local councils
• Maintaining records using computer- and paper-based systems
• Making efficient use of the collected footage, including ensuring accurate recording of stored data and the proper use of camera monitoring equipment and playback facilities
• Reviewing CCTV video material to ensure that the material is of evidential standard
• Dealing with emergency situations including liaison with relevant authorities
• Providing statements for use in legal action
• Incident and fault reporting
An SIA Public Space Surveillance (PSS) (CCTV) license is essential to doing this role and the cost of which will be covered for a successful applicant, however, to succeed in this role you will also need:
• Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work calmly under pressure whilst dealing with multiple issues
• Keen computer literacy and experience in handling email enquires is desirable, but training will be made available if required.
• Exemplary customer service skills
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work unsupervised OR as part of a team
• Five years' checkable history and references
• To pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards
