We are looking for a Sister / Charge Nurse with a specific interest in Oculoplastics who is keen to enhance their clinical and managerial skills.

We are developing an exciting new role within oculoplastic service and are searching for an experienced nurse to join our dedicated and caring team who continually go above and beyond to ensure the unit delivers outstanding patient care.

In return you will work in a well-established nursing, medical and managerial team in the northwest’s leading ophthalmology centre of excellence and will be provided with excellent personal and professional support and development opportunities.

We're searching for a passionate individual to provide dynamic leadership to our Ophthalmic Nursing team, while delivering top-notch, evidence-based care to our diverse multidisciplinary team.

In this role, you'll carry out various forms of care and procedures autonomously, showcasing your expertise and proficiency without the need for direct supervision. As a leader within our ophthalmic outpatient team, you'll set the standard for excellence and ensure that every patient receives the highest quality of care. You will also provide knowledge and skills to the rest of the team and participate in associated management activities.

You will also participate in Ophthalmic clinics held across both sites.

• The post holder will act as leader in the ophthalmic outpatient’s team and be professionally accountable for the standard of care in that department.
• To provide Ophthalmic Nursing advice, clinical education, and Nursing development within the department, within a clinical Governance Framework.
• Function as a professional role model for the Nursing team, demonstrating clinical and managerial skill.
• Ensure staff work within current polices and guidelines to meet the requirements of statutory bodies and the Trust Maintain standards of conduct to sustain public confidence in accordance with NMC code of Professional conduct and Trust Policies.
• Participate in the training and development needs of staff to ensure the team is equipped to fulfil the needs of the service and that individuals have equitable access to development opportunities.
• Demonstrate a high commitment to professional and personal development to ensure that professional competencies are maintained and developed to continue to meet the needs of the service. Maintaining an up-to-date Personal Development Plan.
