As a Residential Child Care Worker, you'll play a pivotal role in providing a safe, caring, and enriching home environment for children who require additional support. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing round-the-clock care and supervision to children within a residential setting. Building trusting and supportive relationships with children, helping them to develop confidence and resilience. Supporting children with their educational and personal development, both inside and outside the classroom. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and social workers, to ensure the holistic well-being of each child. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the residential setting, where children feel valued, respected, and empowered.
We are looking for compassionate individuals who possess:
✅ Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs. ✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and colleagues alike. ✅ Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude, even in challenging situations. ✅ Flexibility and adaptability, as the role may involve shift work and occasional weekend duties. ✅ A genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
