A resilient and committed Children's Residential Support Worker (RSW) is needed to join the team at Oakley House Children's Home (OHCH), a brand new children's home. The home will cater for three young people aged from 11-18.

Shift Pattern:

Just to confirm, we are looking for a full-time individual who can commit to 160hrs a month and completing sleep ins in the home. This does consists of working some weekends either Saturday or Sundays but not all weekends.
The shift pattern is

AM - 7am to 3pm
PM - 2pm - 7am (the next day) (Sleep in is from 11pm - 7am)
Shift Lead - 10am to 10:30am (next day) (Sleep in is from 11pm - 7am)

Overtime (When needed/Short-staffed)

An understanding of relevant legalisation and regulations pertaining to The Children Act 1989, The Childrens Home (England) Regulation 2015 & The 9 Quality Standards for children homes.
To comprehend OHCH policies and practises and to possess the courage to seek clarification when they are confused.
What do you need?

A Full UK Drivers Licence
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care Children’s, or the equivalent.
Previous Residential Support Worker Experience or experience within the care field.
The willingness to undertake the NVQ Level 3.
Duties include:

Support the young people in the household by encouraging education, fostering their independence, and taking care of their health and welfare.
Uphold a secure atmosphere and environment for the young people
Support challenging behaviour safely and sympathetically and by following OHCH policies.
Deter difficult behaviour while maintaining safety, compassion, and adherence to OHCH principles.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the team, parents, social worker and other professionals that may be involved within the young people’s lives
Build and develop good positive relationships with the young people
Encourage and involve the young people in activities and new experiences to enrich their lives
Follow and write care plans and risk assessments, do essential job tasks, attend team meetings and meetings with other professionals, and adhere to the home's policies and procedures as ordered by the registered manager or deputy manager.
Undertaking everyday parenting responsibilities, such as domestic chores, cooking, shopping, taking young people to appointments/meetings, supporting homework etc.
Support the young people in their personal development, gaining vital life skills for future independent living
