Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our solicitors' firm located in Whitechapel, E1. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by conducting legal research, preparing documents, managing cases, and interacting with clients. This position requires a strong grasp of UK legal procedures, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough legal research using UK-specific resources, including databases, statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Analyse legal documents to provide valuable insights for case preparation and strategy.
• Draft and proofread various legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, court forms, and correspondence.
• Assist in preparing court bundles, witness statements, and other materials for hearings and trials.
• Collaborate with solicitors to organize and maintain case files, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.
• Liaise with court personnel, opposing counsel, and clients to schedule meetings, hearings, and appointments.
• Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, offering case updates and addressing inquiries under solicitor supervision.
• Assist in initial client consultations and intake procedures as required.
• Handle administrative tasks, including file management, document indexing, and electronic file organization.
• Contribute to billing processes and maintain accurate records for invoicing.
• Collaborate closely with solicitors, fellow paralegals, and support staff to share information, streamline processes, and ensure efficient case progression.
• Attend team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for process improvement.
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Stay updated on changes in UK legal regulations and procedures, particularly those relevant to Whitechapel's jurisdiction.
Qualifications:
• LLB degree and preferably completed an LPC or equivalent course
• Previous experience as a paralegal within a UK solicitors' firm is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using UK-specific legal research platforms and databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of case management software is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
