Are you a Health Visitor? If so why not come and join our friendly and professional team in Heywood, Middleton or Rochdale.

Our Health Visiting service is looking for an enthusiastic Health Visitor to join us and are seeking to employ a non case holding, Parenting Health Visitor to deliver the parenting support expectations of the Family Hubs and start for life programme.

The post holder will be expected to provide a universal and targeted offer which will help make the transition to parenthood as smooth as possible and which stresses the importance of sensitive, responsive caregiving. This package will comprise of a broad universal support service alongside more targeted evidence-based programmes to be made available for parents/carers with further needs

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team based in one location within HMR but will be required to work within family hubs and other locations across Heywood, Middleton and Heywood.

We work in partnership with the local authority and health services and are piloting new and innovative ways of working. We strongly encourage creativity and new ideas

Role Summary:
• Develop & deliver virtual and physical antenatal parent education in family hubs & local community across the borough.
• Lead, coordinate and implement a multi-agency antenatal education offer to be delivered across the family hubs face to face and digitally.
• Develop communications to promote the offer across the borough in line with the Family hubs communications strategy.
• Engage expectant parents from under-served/seldom heard groups across the borough in antenatal & parent craft education.
• Support with the Alignment of antenatal online resources with Our Rochdale website and Essential Parenting to enable signposting to one place for all families needing help and support.
• Work with a multi-agency group to develop and embed referral pathways for parenting support for new and expectant parents.
• Monitor, evaluate and produce data reports, demonstrating the impact/outcome & user satisfaction of the antenatal services and interventions.
• Raise awareness across the multiagency workforce in relation to the antenatal offer for families including the VSCE/faith sector.
• Work flexibly out of hours to meet the needs of families – which may include evenings, weekends.
• As a member of the Integrated Children’s services in Rochdale, the post holder is expected to contribute to the expectations of the Borough’s Children and Young Peoples Partnership Strategy and the Early Help Strategy.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
