The NIHR St George's Clinical Research Facility is seeking an effective and enthusiastic individual, with knowledge of UK clinical research legal and regulatory environments, for the role of CRF Operations and Quality Assurance Manager.

The CRF, which facilitates Early phase trials in a range of medical specialities such as Infectious Disease, Hepatology, Genetics and Neurology, amongst others, was recently awarded NIHR status which is due to commence in September 2022.

This role will contribute to the further development and growth in Early Phase and experimental research in these areas and others, over the 5 year NIHR funding period.

The successful individual will have responsibility for operations and quality assurance in the Clinical Research Facility. They will also be expected to function as an integral part of the St Georges NIHR CRF and R&D , contributing to high level strategy development and implementation, service modernisation and practice improvement in the department.



The successful candidate, will lead on reporting in accordance with NIHR requirements for the St George’s NIHR CRF, with responsibility for compiling reports and ensuring that the systems are in place to gain accurate and timely information.

Working with senior colleagues, to ensure that the objectives outlined in the NIHR CRF award are delivered, with responsibility for setting up the systems to monitor the objectives.

The post holder will also maintain systems to assure the quality of clinical research undertaken within the Clinical Research Facility in accordance with prevailing legislative andbest practice requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Laboratory Practice principles, the Research Governance Framework for Health and Community Care 2005, Good Clinical Practice as defined in the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations, the Human Tissue Act and the Mental Capacity Act.

The post holder will make some autonomous decisions daily relating to the initiation, development and implementation of quality assurance systems in the CRF.
