What is the role about?

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA Manager to lead our team responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality exam questions for a new high-profile service. As a QA Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, validity, and reliability of our assessment content. Your expertise in quality assurance processes, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will contribute to the success of our Reed Assessment services.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include

Content Review and Validation:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to review and validate exam questions.
  • Ensure alignment with learning objectives, curriculum standards, and assessment guidelines.
  • Verify accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness of content.

Quality Control:

  • Develop and implement quality control processes for question creation, editing, and revision.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and address any inconsistencies or errors.
  • Monitor question performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously improve question-writing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and optimize content development cycles.
  • Implement best practices for maintaining question banks.

Training and Guidance:

  • Train question writers on quality standards, style guidelines, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback and mentorship to improve question-writing skills.
  • Foster a culture of quality consciousness within the team.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with curriculum designers, assessment specialists, and technology teams.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align content development strategies.
  • Contribute to item bank expansion and diversification.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to question quality, validity, or security.
  • Mitigate risks through rigorous testing, validation, and security protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
  • Experience in educational content development, with a focus on exam questions.
  • Strong understanding of assessment principles, item analysis, and psychometrics.
  • Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) and question authoring tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to maintaining high standards.
