Summary
Mechanical Design Engineer
Industry: Manufacturing
Location: Newport, Isle of Wight
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Days: Monday - Friday
Duration: Permanent
Duties:
Design custom products to client requirements,
validate designs using calculations and finite element analysis,
Produce 2D drawings and 3D files for client approval,
Produce detailed 2D drawings and bill of materials for machining and manufacturing departments,
Provide technical support to clients and internal departments.
Experience:
Must have a minim of HNC/Degree qualification in a related subject.
Previous experience is preferred, however graduates may be considered,
Previous experience within load cells and strain gauges is an advantage.
Must be proficient in 3D CAD software and have a good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
Must have strong communication skills and the ability to provide technical support to clients and internal departments.
This role is based on the Isle of Wight, therefore the successful candidates will need to be island based or within a realistic/reliable commute, however some flexible working may be considered for the right candidate.
