Summary

Head of Payroll & Pensions

Location: Hybrid (3 days Sheffield office & 2 days Home)

Salary: £46,575.57 - £53,299.23 per annum

Contract: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

About you:

Can you take responsibility for the operational and staff management of the Payroll Team, handling the changes for c. 1'300 monthly paid staff? Work with the Deputy People Director to develop the Payroll & Pensions Team to provide a high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective administration service for GFSL. Ensure procedures and controls are in place to enable provision of an accurate payroll service that meets the required deadlines.

Organise and prioritise own workload ensuring strict deadlines are adhered to, be responsible for the monthly payroll to ensure the timely and accurate payment of salaries. Ensure all payments are made in line with GFSL policy and procedures, and within the strict payroll processing deadlines that exist.

To interpret legislative changes and GFSL pay related guidance and provide payroll advice to staff across the organisation.

We provide critical and time-bound services to the Ministry of Justice and are looking for management professionals that can make a difference to the sites and the people we are responsible for.

We're five years young and growing in the provision of our on site solutions to the prison service and want applicants who:

Have extensive, in-depth experience working in a payroll department covering all aspects of complex and contentious issues

Significant experience managing a team in similar environment

Strong Microsoft Excel & analytical skills

Previous experience of implementing and maintaining an integrated payroll/HR system

Extensive, expert knowledge of UK Legislation - such as Tax, National Insurance, Statutory Payment and Auto Enrolment etc.

Has CIPP Foundation Degree or equivalent
