TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school situated in the heart of Bishop's Stortford. They are dedicated to providing the best possible support for students with special educational needs and disabilities and are seeking a compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND, assisting them with their educational and personal development.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies tailored to the specific needs of each student.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students with SEND.
• Support students with personal care, mobility, and other daily activities as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities is desirable but not essential.
• A caring and patient demeanor, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to learn and adapt to the diverse needs of students with SEND.
• Relevant qualifications or training in supporting individuals with special educational needs and disabilities would be advantageous.
