Summary


This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join the Central & West Lancashire’s inpatient psychology team. The post is primarily based at the Chorley Inpatient Wards, Chorley and South Ribble Hospital with clinical responsibilities, dependent on service need and demand, to other units/ wards within Central inpatient services. Within the Chorley Inpatient Unit there are two functional wards (male and female) as well as a female Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. We are looking for an organised, compassionate, and motivated individual to join our team. We want to recruit people to the service who share our values and are confident in their ability to contribute. As such you will play a significant role in helping us achieve the team vision of delivering a high quality, safe and effective service for our in-patient community.

The post holder will work as a senior member of the service to assist in providing clinical leadership and strategic service development to the clinical teams and services within the designated specialty clinical care group. The post holder will work closely with other senior clinical and managerial staff within the locality/specialty area to provide a psychological perspective to service planning, service development and clinical service transformation across the locality/specialty area.

The post holder will be expected to lead on a designated area of psychological development, governance or implementation across the locality/specialty e.g. the development and embedding of Psychologically Informed Interventions.

It is also expected that the post-holder will retain a caseload and provide a specialist clinical role within the Service team where they are based.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
