Summary
JOB SUMMARY
As a church, it is imperative to us that we reflect the diversity in our community, herein, fulfilling the great commission as taught by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This role would also require serving the community. Apart from being a symbol of hope and a place of refuge, we see ourselves (the church) as servants, first to God and second to our community, which is also at the core of our belief. Following the church's strategic plan to promote the gospel of our Lord and personal Saviour, Jesus Christ, to empower the community by creating and adding value to the people through the teaching and preaching of the word of God, we have established a mission to empower the community by creating and adding value to the people.
Requirements
• Deep knowledge and understanding of the Code of Conduct, Rules of Beliefs and the Tenets of The Apostolic Church Worldwide.
• Baptised in The Apostolic Church with a certificate.
• The Apostolic Church Right Hand of Fellowship certificate.
• Minimum Deaconry certification / Eldership (Advantage).
• Christian leaders' certification.
• Knowledge of the Christian calendar and patterns of worship and Christian nurture
• Be an active communicant member of the Apostolic Church
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities
• The duties will include evangelism, conducting prayer meetings, weddings, christenings, baptisms, funerals, and other religious ceremonies, and giving spiritual advice and guidance to the congregation in the church and surrounding areas.
• The applicants would be expected to preach and teach the word of God in accordance with Christian religious beliefs to young people and adults of the congregation in church services regularly.
• The applicants would be required to research and constantly attend trainings, retreats, and seminars to improve their knowledge of the scripture and its teachings.
• They will also be required to provide counselling, as well as emotional and spiritual support.
• The ability to Speak Yoruba and English is desirable but not essential. The candidate will receive the necessary support.
• Administer and plan numerous youth programs like evangelism, retreats and Bible study sessions.
• Train and recruit volunteers for efficient implementation of church programs.
• Provide counselling to youths and help them realize their individual goals.
• Coordinate with parents of youth group members regarding their children’s involvement and participation in the church.
• Train youths on how to be future faith-filled leaders and set up programs to facilitate spiritual growth.
• Assist in organizing and compiling of Sunday school curriculum.
