About The Role
SUPPORT WORKER – ADULT SERVICES - LEARNING DISABILITIES
We are looking for an experienced support worker. Ideally with a level 3 NVQ in health and social care. Experience in adult social care is a must. Due to a driving element of this role, you must hold a full UK driving licence.
The Role
To provide support, learning, and care, in a therapeutically informed way to individuals in a variety of settings including the home, and life activities facilitating a positive lived experience enabling individuals to become the very best version of themselves.
A level 3 life Practitioner should have a deep understanding of the characteristics, challenges, and needs of individuals with a learning disability and an autism diagnosis. This includes knowledge of different types of disabilities, communication strategies, sensory sensitivities, and behavioural patterns
What will you be doing:
• Working with the staff team across all levels to safeguard our young adults at all times.
• Participating in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events held within the home and wider community.
• Assisting with practical tasks relating to care. For example, cooking and cleaning.
• Creating positive relationships with the young adults, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
• Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the young adults.
• Continually maintaining accurate and clear record keeping.
• Ensuring that the needs of the young adults are being met and regularly reviewing and recording any changes to their needs.
• Actively contributing to the development of the team.
