Summary

Join us as a Risk & Controls Manager

  • If you have a background in driving learning and capability transformation in non-financial risk management, then join our team in helping to transform Behaviour & Capability (B&C) for the First Line of Defence Risk Framework CoE
  • We’ll look to you to proactively design and implement B&C interventions and drive the implementation of risk framework changes. You will understand controls and be able to support control environment enhancement work. You will be able to assess policy compliance and changes to policy, converting these into appropriate strategies and action plans. You will be able to anticipate and assess the potential impacts of risk across the bank

  • This role is available for a period of 12 months

What you'll do

You’ll have responsibility for supporting management with the delivery of B&C interventions to improve understanding of the risk management framework specifically around delivery of risk and control self-assessments, process control assessments and functional self-assessments. Working with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll look to drive forward the development and delivery of remedial action plans, where identified in relation to the risk management framework and control environment. On top of this, you’ll be supporting a culture of proactive and pre-emptive risk management and continuous improvement, and the attainment of operational risk objectives.

You’ll also be:

  • Designing and imbedding behavioural and capability learning interventions in line with the B&C workstream objectives and plan
  • Coaching and supporting colleagues across the bank to improve understanding and embed a proactive risk culture
  • Delivering enhancements to current state controls environment in line with the control enhancement workstream objectives ad plan
  • Analysing risk reporting and metrics used to inform decision making
  • Educating teams on the operational risk framework and our conduct risk obligations, supporting the business in operating and embedding them
  • Supporting and regularly engaging with relevant stakeholders including second and third line of defence, and risk teams

The skills you'll need

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a leader with experience of applying risk and control management in an operational and strategic context. You’ll also need excellent communication skills to support the team, as well as being able to negotiate with, and influence, stakeholders across an organisation.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong knowledge of risk and controls assessment analysis and methodologies
  • Audit or assurance of risk management and controls framework
  • Learning and training design and delivery in operational risk
  • Significant business and operational risk experience
