Summary


The Sepsis Specialist Practitioner role is a trust wide role, providing leadership, education and training to improve the outcomes for patients with sepsis.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Sepsis Specialist band 7 - full time post. We are looking for enthusiasm, knowledge and excellent communication skills. If you are keen to join this specialist area of patient safety then we are able to support you in this role.

The job role will include teaching and training both in the classroom and clinically. You will work with the multidisciplinary team throughout the trust to improve patient safety.

You will be involved in audit and supporting ward staff with understanding sepsis. you will be involved in report writing and improving quality aspects related to sepsis .

The post holder will be involved in embedded new standards, guidelines and updating policy's related to sepsis.

The post will be supported by the patient safety specialist nursing officer and be part of a wider team of patient safety specialist nurses.

The post will be based pan-site, working across all hospital sites and the post holder will be expected to travel between the three hospital sites for meetings and trust cover.

The Sepsis specialist Nurse/Practitioner is a Trust wide role, providing clinical leadership, education and training to improve the outcomes for patients with sepsis. The post holder is accountable for the leadership and delivery of actions to promote safe, effective sepsis care to patients within the Trust. The role will include raising awareness of sepsis, ensuring early recognition, assessment and interventions through clinical education and direct clinical support. The post holder will be instrumental in organising and supporting the corporate delivery of the Sepsis key performance indicators. They will be a driver of qualitative, innovative, productive, safe evidence based nursing care which promotes best practice and best outcomes for patients and will act as a clinical expert and resource for members of the multi-disciplinary team.
