Summary


The Safeguarding Service is looking for a Safeguarding Advisor to join our Safeguarding Children's Team. If you are passionate about keeping children and young people safe we would like to hear from you.

Based at Crich Medical Practice, you will provide a service across Derbyshire that safeguards and promotes the wellbeing of children/young people and their families, including adults at risk.

You will be required to develop and deliver adult and children safeguarding training, to provide information/give advice and contribute to the safety planning for victims/children at Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and to triage and support attendance at children strategy meetings.
• Work within the organisation’s Safeguarding Service to support safeguarding workstreams.
• Attend, contribute and give advice when required, to the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) related to safeguarding ‘vulnerable’ individuals, children and families.
• To support DCHS staff that attend the MARAC meetings.
• Work as required with partner agencies, e.g. Social Care, Police, Acute Trusts, CCG etc
• To support the Safeguarding Team with the delivery of safeguarding adult and children training for DCHS.
• To deliver safeguarding training around various venues in Derbyshire as required ensuring that all staff receive comprehensive, effective and high quality training.
• To be able to use a variety of methods in the delivery of safeguarding training.
• To have up to date knowledge of children and adult safeguarding legislation and practice in order to fulfil the expertise element of this role.
• To attend internal and external meetings, as required.
• To support the Safeguarding Team to review records for strategy meetings, chronologies, case file based audits and information exchanges (adult and children).
• To support the safeguarding children’s team workstream in relation to triage and attendance at strategy meetings.

The Safeguarding Service encompasses the Safeguarding Children Team, Safeguarding Adult Team, Starting Point Health Team and the Safeguarding Administration Team who work together to promote the reduction of harm for children/young people, families and adults at risk in Derbyshire.

Team members all bring different work experiences, knowledge and skills to the Service; which promotes a Think Family ethos when supporting staff with safeguarding concerns.

The Safeguarding Service is part of the Quality and Professional Standards Directorate and works with all parts of the organisation to achieve a good standard of safeguarding practice.
