Summary


Endoscopy at the Royal Cornwall hospital are seeking to appoint a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Innovative team that deliver an array of Endoscopy procedures and Services.

We are looking to employ a suitable individual to join and support our Leadership team. The successful candidate will assist with the leadership and development of the nursing team and also be an excellent role-model and champion for high quality patient centered care.

Endoscopy/ Gastroenterology knowledge would be preferred.

Applicants must be an experienced Registered Nurse and should possess experience of leading / managing a team. Flexibility is essential to ensure senior cover of this busy environment.

This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week.

The role requires you to be flexible, resilient, a forward thinking, enthusiastic and a positive motivator. You will deputise and support the Department Sister to lead a team of registered and unregistered nurses, ensuring team and individual learning and development.

You will work alongside a variety of multi-disciplinary team members, which will include gastroenterology consultants, surgeons, clinical nurse endoscopists and lower gastrointestinal specialist nurses; all striving to provide the safest and best quality care in an out-patient setting.

As a team we undertake a variety of procedures and services including Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Trans-nasal Endoscopy (TNE), Endoscopic retrograde cholangio pancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and bronchoscopy, held across Royal Cornwall Hospital, West Cornwall Hospital and Bodmin Hospital. We use modern technology to carry out our pre-assessment service and will soon be overseeing two gastroenterology outpatient clinics.

You will be joining our supportive leadership team consisting of the Endoscopy unit Leader, a Deputy Sister and a Deputy Charge Nurse. You will be actively encouraged in your continuing professional development through the use of a care group specific Personal Development Plan and completion of the RCHT manager’s / leader’s passport.
