Clinical Research Fellow in Adaptive Radiotherapy for Pelvic Cancer

Start date: 01.09.2024

Applications are invited for a clinical research fellow in adaptive radiotherapy for pelvic cancers. Radiotherapy research is undertaken within the Institute of Cancer Research Radiotherapy and Imaging Division (Headed by Professors K Harrington and C Nutting) and the Royal Marsden NHS Trust, Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology. The primary supervisor for this post is Dr Susan Lalondrelle; the successful applicant will join a team of clinical fellows and researchers working in radiotherapy research.

This post has been developed to undertake radiotherapy-related research synergising with the clinical implementation of online adaptive radiotherapy delivery through the installation of new first-in-kind technology at RM, for the purpose of improving accuracy of radiotherapy delivery, and thereby to facilitate the development of clinical trials of pelvic hypofractionation and dose escalation.

Working together with physics and radiographer colleagues, the post-holder will be responsible for establishing and delivering the projects relevant to clinical implementation of online adaptive radiotherapy in gynaecological and urological cancers. We anticipate projects undertaken would be suitable for submission of a MD(Res) higher degree.

Appointment and salary will be to the Clin I (SpR equivalent) scale, spine point to depend on candidates seniority.

This will be a fixed term contract for 2 years. The applicant will require GMC registration and be eligible to work in the UK.

Informal enquiries may be made by contacting Dr Susan Lalondrelle (susan.lalondrelle@rmh.nhs.uk)
