Job Role: Supported Housing Service Manager
Salary: £31,400 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract type: Permeant
Location: Shepton Mallet, Mendip
Additional information:
- Participation in a rostered system of working with shifts between the hours of 08:00 AM and 08:00 PM, weekend work required (1 in every 4)
- Travel required across Mendip to cover accommodation across 2 locations
- Participation in an on-call system (1 in every 4 weeks), £100 per week when on-call
- A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work


The Role:
The Service Manager will be integral to our Mendip Off The Streets project, which is dedicated to offering support to individuals with a history of rough sleeping in the Mendip area. Our primary goal is to provide high-quality, person-centred accommodation and support, prioritising the safety and well-being of each individual.

In this role, you will oversee eight accommodation units spread across two locations (Shepton Mallet and Frome), along with a dedicated team of support workers. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the service, ensuring that the support provided to residents and staff meets high-quality standards. Your day-to-day activities will vary significantly, from directly supporting clients and guiding staff in their roles to ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the service. Additionally, you will regularly engage in discussions with external stakeholders and commissioners


Responsibilities include:
- Lead the team to provide expert support for people who have a recent history of rough sleeping
- Provide planning, leadership and direction to the service and staff
- Deliver and lead a high-quality off-the-street accommodation service for individuals sleeping rough within Mendip
- Establish effective working relationships both internally and externally, maximising opportunities for residents
- Carry out, within reason, any other duties necessary to achieve the smooth running of the service and undertake other organisational duties which are broadly in line with the key responsibilities


Qualifications / Requirements:
- A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work
- Knowledge and understanding of rough sleeping, multiple complex social needs and the causes of homelessness
- Proven management experience in a similar setting
