Summary
Clinical Responsibilities: a) Assessment of families, children and adolescents who present with a mental health issue and have a learning disability aged 5 to 18 years old b) Treatment for families, children and adolescents, tailored to individual needs, in a multi-disciplinary setting c) It is expected that the Consultants caseload will vary depending on the complexity of cases. This will be reviewed in job planning meetings. d) Consultation and collaboration with other agencies in the assessment and treatment of complex cases e) Meetings and consultations with other members of the team and members of the Childrens Health Services, which includes Community Paediatricians f) Planning and co-ordinating mental health services for children, adolescents and families, where appropriate g) Preparation of professional assessments and reports on those children or young people known to the post holder h) Participate in medical audit and evaluation MANAGERIAL SUPERVISION All consultants meet monthly with the Locality Manager to discuss issues relating to the locality, for caseload review and support and to receive updates on other services. A monthly meeting is held for all CAMHS Consultants with the CAMH Head of Service, which is also attended by the CYPF Division Clinical Director. Regular individual meetings with the Locality Manager will be arranged as required to provide support and discuss any study and/or training needs arising from the appraisal process, and any other issues affecting the consultants work.
