Summary

Practice Managers are vital to the successful running of GP surgeries. You will manage the business aspect of the surgery, making sure that Practice patients are at the centre of the surgery's operations. A Practice Manager must maintain a happy and committedGPpracticeteam Experience of senior healthcare administration and management is desirable for this position. An understanding of current NHS initiatives and organisational structures would be advantageous. They are responsible for implementing policies and procedures to make sure theGPpracticeis compliant and fit for purpose Practice Managersalso manage the practices staff and budgets, and ensure the practice has all the necessary resources to operate effectively. A GP surgery is a patient's first and most frequent point of contact with the NHS and you'll be responsible for its smooth running. Ensuring accurate records are kept, and liaising with local health organisations such as Integrated Care Boards and NHSE. A Managersrole may include: Agreeing and managing thepracticebudget along with the Partners. Submitting timely financial claims and timely data. Ensuring the quality of the services offered to patients. Recruiting, training and managing administrative staff - Reception manager will assist the PM and oversee training schedule and training needs of new receptionists once all HR documentation has been actioned. Overseeing patient records. Ensuring the appointments system runs smoothly with the support of an admin team. Monitoring patient satisfaction, and handling patients negative feedback and any complaints. Practice Manager'smust maintain a happy and committedGPpracticeteam - They are responsible for implementing policies and procedures to make sure theGPpracticeis compliant and fit for purpose They should have a good relationship with staff thats based on trust and engagement. The level of communication should be very good, the manager should know whats going on, when, where, and why. Equally, members of staff should know where they stand and be up to date with whats going on in the practice. The manager should support the team, with what they want them to do. You will work with other team members to improve quality of service and efficiency within the practice. Practice Managers must have an exceptional work ethic. They provide leadership to other employees by being punctual, hardworking and show kindness and gratitude to staff for their contribution to the business. Principal duties and responsibilities To manage the day-to-day business operations of the practice Ensuring the practice provides reliable customer service. Overseeing staff adverts and recruitment Overseeing finances, billing and payroll Overseeing HR and Health and Safety Monitor inventory and place orders for resupply of stationery, medication supplies and medical equipment Managing patient records and addressing customer complaints or concerns Ensure the practice complies with industry regulations Advertising/ obtaining locum staff to fill available sessions the practice may need. Setting new staff up on EMIS and other relevant practice systems Manage room allocations for all clinical staff Managing GP Partners / Salaried / Locum and ARRS Annual Leave Induction of new Salaried and Locum Clinical staff. Manage EMIS appointment slots/ mapping/ sessions Responsible for maintaining and updating internal practice documents including policies and procedures, ensuring they are fit for purpose Develop and implement the processes and policies to ensure the practice is complaint with CQC standards for good medical practice Manage the CQC registration with the Registered Manager to ensure it is up to date and relevant to the activities provided Ensure all practice policies and procedures are reviewed appropriately in line with the programme of reviews Putting up clinical rotas Reallocating work as appropriate when staff both admin/ clinical are off Ability to work under pressure and handle the unexpected
