About The Role


Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide a safe and secure environment for all staff, contractors, visitors and local residents at all times.
  • To provide the highest level of service with nothing being too much trouble at any time day or night with a 'can do' 'will do' attitude at all times.
  • Working as part of the wider team to ensure a high level of concierge and security services are delivered with nothing being too much trouble.
  • Providing overnight security coverage for the residential site, including monitoring surveillance cameras, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to any security incidents or emergencies.
  • Offering a high level of customer service to residents and visitors, assisting with inquiries, providing access control, and addressing any concerns or requests.
  • Conducting thorough checks of all access points, ensuring they are secure and locked appropriately during nighttime hours.
  • Collaborating closely with property management and facilities teams to address any security-related issues or maintenance concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate records of security incidents, patrols, and visitor logs.



Working Hours:

Shift times will be agreed with the Estate Manager. Times may vary on occasions subject to business requirements. Generally the shifts worked will be 08.00am to 20.00pm (Day shift) and 20.00pm to 08.00am (Night shift). There will be a half an hour mid-shift break with two 15 min breaks in between this as directed by the Shift Duty Manager.



Main Duties:

  • Protect our resident's privacy and confidentiality.
  • Meet and greet visitors, contractors and staff visiting the estate, showing them where to park and direct them to their destination as necessary
  • Following the SOP procedures in reporting and responding to any complaints.
  • Prevent trespassers and travelers from entering the estate at all times.
  • Prevent anti-social behavior by providing a security presence and patrolling the internal and external areas of the estate, recording the times of patrol using the electronic Patrol device.
  • Identify any Health & Safety issues around the site and report them to the Duty manager or Estate Manager.
  • Undertake regular building patrols to monitor the cleanliness and security of the estate and record and report any issues to the Duty Manager.

  • To be the first point of contact for Police and emergency services for any incidents, and ongoing collaboration re sharing of local intelligence relating to known individuals and incidents.
  • Ensure radio contact is maintained with concierge/security colleagues and the Duty Manager at all times.
  • Prevent crime and graffiti to the perimeter hoarding and neighboring properties through visible presence and conducting regular patrols of the perimeter of the estate, car park and within the internal areas of the buildings.
  • Provide a First Aid support in the event of any incident.
  • Maintain a security log of all activities and incidents occurring during the shift for audit purposes and send daily report to the Duty Manager.
  • To serve as a principal source of information on rules and procedures governing security and Health and Safety operations on sites.
  • Communicate any incidents to the Duty Manager on a daily/nightly basis by way of email reports.
  • Ensure safety regulation compliance at the sites and that PPE is worn where required by both contractors' visitors to site, establish security patrol priorities and assist in crime prevention by identifying high risk areas and initiates actions to reduce risk exposure.
  • Ensure COVID-19 protocols are followed when active on the estate.
  • Take necessary action in the event of emergency in accordance with assignment instructions and report all incidents to the Duty Manager.



Concierge Duties

To provide concierge duties as below within the estate as required:

  • Liaising with cleaning staff regarding rubbish removal and general cleaning standards during their operating times. (Outside of these times to deal with any cleaning matters directly to ensure the estate is presented to the highest standards of cleanliness at all times.
  • Monitoring the CCTV cameras and taking any appropriate action as required. Entering any incidents within the daily log book.
  • Monitoring the fire panel and BMS alarms and taking the appropriate action as required.
  • All reception type duties involving all aspects of meeting and greeting, administration, use of the telephone, computers, walkie-talkie, internal intercom system, lift alarms to the correct operating standards.
  • Dealing with any cleaning requirements, taking urgent action as appropriate.
  • Correct reporting of any security / health and safety issues.
  • Safe keeping of all estate and resident keys and door access fob's for the estate and conducting regular key audits.
  • Issuing of key only to authorized personnel strictly checking they have authority to sign that key out.
  • Receiving, logging and the safekeeping of any parcels / registered mail received.
  • Conducting regular audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times concerning the business of the estate and all CAPCO personnel.
  • Give a clear and concise handover to the oncoming shift (arriving 15 minutes prior to shift start for handover)
  • Any other reasonable request as requested by the Duty Manager or Estate manager.
  • To follow all safety measures as advised by UK Government and estate management in relation to COVID-19, including whilst travelling to and from work.
  • Ensure that all enquiries received through the helpdesk are dealt with according to the relevant flow procedure.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a security or concierge role, preferably within a residential environment.
  • Strong knowledge of security procedures and protocols, including access control and surveillance systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments when faced with security challenges or emergencies.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts and weekends as required.
  • SIA CCTV and Security Guard or Door Supervisor license is essential
