Summary
In Borders Analysis we are committed to being an inclusive employer with a diverse workforce. We encourage applications from people from the widest possible range of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.
Borders Analysis (BA)
Our border is more than a line on a map.
It is a combination of policies, processes and systems delivered by both public and private organisations across more than 270 recognised crossing points across the UK.
Borders Analysis play a central role in ensuring the effective management and transformation of the border, driving decision-making across Border Force, the Home Office and wider government.
The smooth operation of our systems and processes is vital to the UK’s economy, safety, biosecurity and ability to combat illegal migration. Concurrently, changing trends in trade, migration and security mean our border is under more pressure than ever before. To support Border Force through this demanding environment we tackle a vast array of exciting and challenging analytical puzzles.
BA is a dynamic unit of around 70 analysts, working collaboratively across multiple professions. We have a record of accomplishment in delivering high quality, innovative analysis to support decision making on a wide range of government priorities.
To meet the growing demand for analysis to support the delivery of the Border 2025 Strategy, we are seeking talented people to join our fantastic team. We are looking for people with the capability and dedication to deliver impactful evidence, analysis and insight; and to champion our values of respect, compassion, collaboration and courage.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team which underpins implementation of new processes at the border. Providing strategic and operational support to Border Force and playing a key role in long-term planning, as well as working at a fast pace to help deliver operational solutions. We also provide evidence to inform strategic investments in border security through analytical insight and evidence.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estates capacity, by Spring 2024. Applicants can request further information regarding how this may work in their team from the Vacancy Holder (see advert for contact details).
Candidates will need to agree a base location of either Croydon, London, Manchester or Sheffield with a requirement for regular attendance at other Home Office locations including (but not limited to): London, Croydon, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Sheffield with some travel to various frontline locations.
