Summary
The successful applicant will assist in the implementation and coordination of the Museum’s Learning and Engagement Programme and deliver learning activities and sessions as required.
We are looking for a candidate with an enthusiasm for working in a museum who possesses a degree or other relevant higher educational qualification, ideally with a postgraduate qualification in teaching and/or museum studies. The successful applicant will possess the confidence and knowledge to teach cross curricular topics such as science, maths and history at National Curriculum Key Stage 2 level alongside a good understanding of the National Curriculum as a whole.
The role will involve working with SEND children and children with physical disabilities, therefore the ideal applicant will be able to adapt their education sessions to meet the different needs of our audiences. A knowledge of best museum practice (e.g. object handling), interest within the sector and experience in educational use of museum collections and displays are desirable criteria.
This role is 16 hours a week covering the core operational hours for teaching.
