Summary

Personal Assistant for up to 27 hours per week. £11.30 p/h

Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 9e06fe7e

I am a 59-year-old woman living with her grown up daughter and her daughter’s partner in the Bishopston area of Bristol.

I have an interest in arts and crafts and enjoy taking part in creative activities. I also enjoy swimming, (although the PA doesn’t have to get in the pool if she prefers not to). I am a keen daytime cinema goer and enjoy watching the world go by, sat in cafes. I like watching TV and really enjoy a good laugh.

To be fit for this role, you will need to be understanding and patient. I can be very chatty and enjoy being busy, however this can be mentally tiring for me so you will also need to be able to support me with quieter calming times.

Experience of supporting other people is essential, either as a PA or in other ways, such as other types of care giving roles. Ideally, you’ll have experience of supporting people with memory difficulties and an understanding of equal opportunity issues. You’ll need to be very trustworthy, and to liaise with my daughter and my best friend about what needs doing day-to-day.

The successful candidate’s main tasks will be to support me with:· Washing/dressing· Domestic/laundry· Cleaning· Shopping· Meal preparation· Home exercise programme including stretching· Day-to-day business matters (e.g., electricity and gas suppliers) & organising repairs, doing bits of basic DIY· Driving (using own vehicle)· Support going to appointments· Social activities including swimming, cinema, walks.· The ability to support me with remembering things & doing tasks in the right order, without taking away my autonomy and choice.

I am fairly flexible about the times that you will work, this will be discussed further upon interview, however some weekend work is required. This post is suitable for job-sharers if you want to work fewer hours.

The position will be paid at £11.30 per hour and will be paid through the PAYE scheme.
