Summary

Job Title: Community Physiotherapist Grade:Band 6 Trust: Alder hey Childrens NHS Foundation Trust Location: Sefton Cares Centre, 27-37 South Road, Waterloo, L22 5PE. This is a community post therefore will involve driving to community settings within the South Sefton area. Hours: Monday Friday up to 15 hours per week Pay rate: £19.10-£30.56 (uplifts for weekends and Bank Holidays) End Date: 31/05/2024 Alder hey Childrens NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking organised and motivated candidates to fulfil Community Physiotherapist opportunities within the Sefton Community Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy Team under a long-term placement contract.Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills looking to embark on a new opportunity within the NHS? The post holder will ideally have previous NHS experience, paediatric physiotherapy assessment and treatment knowledge and experience with children with neuro disability is essential. They must be able to demonstrate initiative and prioritise a complex workload whilst working both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a team. High levels of both written and oral communication are essential to this post with the ability to deliver or discuss difficult diagnosis and prognosis with tact, empathy, managing distressed or aggressive patients or carers/relatives. The post holder must be able to communicate accurate and sensitive information to patients, carers, and relatives as well as within their own team & colleagues. Role Details: To assess and identify the individual needs of patients, to clinically diagnose and implement treatment plans if appropriate in a manner that respects peoples privacy, dignity, and individuality To formulate and deliver an individualised physiotherapy treatment programme, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic handling, patient education, provision of exercise (individual/group), and other alternative options To record and report findings appropriately following the standard procedures used by the department to maintain high levels of written/verbal communication To assist Clinical Therapy Manager/Team Leader in service development and the provision of a quality service To take responsibility for junior members of staff and delegate duties as necessary, always providing appropriate level of support To act as an autonomous practitioner within a specialised community paediatric physiotherapy service, providing physiotherapy assessment, treatment and ongoing physical management to children in a range of settings including schools, clinics and the home. To be responsible for maintaining own competency and self-development The Successful Candidate Will: Hold a Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent Be HCPC registered Have previous NHS experience Paediatric physiotherapy assessment and treatment knowledge and experience with children with neuro disability is essential Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Trust and NHS protocols and guidelines Experience working in a similar role within a community setting Experience working with elderly patients A full UK driving licence and access to a car Who are NHS Professionals?
