Hi, I’m Mitch! I'm a 32 year old male, I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and use an electric wheelchair. I run my own lifestyle blog and I live in the Cheswick Village area of Stoke Gifford in Bristol with my 2 young children, 8 and 6 (who have their own Nannies). We also have an older dog; a friendly Black Labrador called Bella. I need full-time 1-to-1 support with all of my day-to-day complex care needs.
I'm looking for highly skilled Personal Care Assistant's to join my fantastic team for some or all of the hours available (between 24 and 36 hours per week contract), plus potential ad hoc shifts to cover Annual Leave & sickness, if interested (double pay if given less than 48 hours notice).
Pay (paid monthly by PAYE bank transfer):
£16.50 per hour on Weekends
£14.00 per hour on Weekdays
£33.00 per hour on Bank Holidays.
£17.50 per hour on Weekend Waking Nights.
£15.00 per hour on Weekday Waking Nights.
£35.00 per hour on Bank Holiday Waking Nights.
Days available:
Every Wednesday 09:00 - 21:00.
Every Thursday 09:00 - 21:00.
Every other Saturday 09:00 - 21:00.
Every other Sunday 09:00 - 21:00.
Waking Nights available:
Every other Thursday 21:00 - 09:00.
Every or every other Friday 21:00 - 09:00.
Every or every other Saturday 21:00 - 09:00.
Candidates must:
- Have an up-to-date clear enhanced DBS Check for Adults and Children (which is provided free of charge).
- Have a Full UK Driver's Licence, with no driving convictions.
- Complete mandatory online respiratory training online via Microsoft Teams.
- Have a love for adventures!
The role includes Personal Care such as:
- Toileting with a bottle (no catheter).
- Washing, dressing and oral hygiene.
- Moving and handling (using a slide sheet and hospital bed).
- Hoisting with a ceiling track hoist (x1 PCA).
- Administration of oral and inhaled medications (Nebulizer, Cough Assist and Suction).
- Food preparation, support with eating and drinking (no PEG feed).
- Domestic household tasks i.e. hoovering, mopping and washing etc.
- Socialising, shopping, days out, attending concerts and trips away etc.
- Driving my open policy wheelchair accessible vehicle (Peugeot Boxer).
*£400 Joinup, Birthday and Christmas bonuses, Blue Light Discount for carers, off-street parking and 6 weeks Annual Leave entitlement per year, plus accrued holiday.*
