North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced housing professional to join the Safe and Decent Homes Team; this post puts you at the heart of a specialist and customer-focused operation which is critical in the delivery of the Council’s housing and disabled adaptations services through effective case management, partnership working and the coordination of adaptation works to council properties.
Job Requirements:
• Demonstrable experience in housing, property services or disabled adaptations delivery
• Skill and aptitude for managing casework, prioritising workloads and coordinating adaptation works
• Knowledge and application of relevant housing legislation and health & safety requirements
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with tenants, contractors and partner agencies
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of disabled adaptations to council properties, from referral through to completion
• Assess, prioritise and coordinate cases in line with the Disabled Adaptations Policy, customer need and available resources
• Work collaboratively with tenants, contractors, Occupational Therapists and partner agencies to ensure timely and effective delivery of works
• Monitor performance, budgets and quality of works, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and service standards
Key Attributes:
• Customer-focused, with a practical and empathetic approach to supporting tenants with adaptation needs
• Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines
• Solution-focused, applying sound judgement and problem-solving skills in complex or sensitive situations
• Strong collaborative approach, with the ability to build effective working relationships
across teams and partner organisations
You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail, focus and conscientiousness when carrying out this politically-restricted role, to support the delivery of the Housing Renewal and Disabled Adaptations service at an operational and technical level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
If you feel you have what it takes to manage complex casework and deliver customer-focused adaptation solutions, this could be the role for you.
