We are seeking an Engineering Lead to lead and manage maintenance operations across client sites, ensuring all work is carried out safely, effectively, and in line with regulations.
The role is focused on creating safe, compliant, and efficient workplaces while supporting improvements in client satisfaction and overall business performance.
Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on engineering professional who can balance technical delivery with leadership responsibilities.
This role involves managing the on-site engineering team and contractors, while also contributing to maintenance activities and helping to shape processes and working practices.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across client sites.
Deliver reactive maintenance tasks as required.
Undertake electrical works in line with relevant standards.
Oversee engineering compliance across the wider contract.
Audit engineering delivery and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Manage contractors, including RAMS checks and subcontractor coordination.
Supervise and support the on-site engineering team, including planning and assigning work.
Manage recruitment, training, performance reviews, and respond to feedback.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Essential:
Fully qualified electrician.
Strong hands-on engineering capability.
Comfortable remaining tools-based while taking on leadership responsibilities.
FM/building services background preferred.
Ideal Candidate:
Senior engineer ready to step into a first supervisory or lead role.
Keen to progress without moving fully into management.
Strong personality with the ability to engage confidently with clients.
Capable of managing one direct report.
Management Experience:
Existing people-management experience preferred but not essential.
