Summary
The Children’s Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Team are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant. This is a fixed term post, ending 30th October 2026.
About the role:
The role involves providing administrative support to the safeguarding and quality assurance service which is responsible for safeguarding issues in relation to children, including the oversight and review of children who are deemed to be at risk and subject to a child protection plan and children placed in the care of the Local Authority.
As part of the safeguarding and quality assurance service you will provide administrative support to Independent Chairs and Independent Reviewing Officers, co-ordinate the delivery and review of child protection conferences and support the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) who is responsible for managing allegations against professionals working with children.

About you:
You will be able to evidence that you have excellent IT skills and have the ability to quickly learn and navigate software and systems. We are looking for someone who is organised, who can take accurate notes at meetings and who is able to prioritise and manage competing demands.
In addition to all these competencies, it is essential for you to be flexible in your approach to meet the requirements of a busy team. You will have an informed and professional manner when dealing with customers and clients, and process confidential and sensitive information in line with corporate and national guidelines.

Higher level IT skills are required for the post and as such there will be an administrative IT test.
Location: Varied – Blended working arrangements which include Office (Keynsham, Midsomer Norton and Bath) and Home - given nature of role there will be an element of travel.
