Summary
Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated, and customer-focused Vending Machine Operator to manage, restock, and maintain our network of automated retail and refreshment machines across designated client sites. As the face of our business on the road, you will ensure our machines are fully stocked, spotlessly clean, and operating at peak efficiency. This role requires a blend of excellent customer service, physical stamina, and basic technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Route management and stocking, you will efficiently navigate your daily assigned route to visit client sites, replenishing ambient snacks, cold drinks, and hot beverage ingredients according to demand and inventory schedules. This includes carrying out strict stock rotation on a First In, First Out basis to ensure product freshness and minimize waste.
Hygiene and cleanliness, you will perform thorough routine cleaning and sanitisation of both the internal components and external surfaces of the machines to strict food safety standards.
Basic maintenance and diagnostics duties will involve monitoring machine performance, testing internal sensors, clearing minor coin or product jams, and performing basic, first-line technical fixes and diagnostics on-site.
Inventory control, you will accurately log stock usage and track inventory levels using our digital tracking system to ensure your service van is correctly loaded each morning.
Customer relations, you will act as a professional representative of our company, addressing any customer feedback or site manager queries politely and efficiently.
Requirements & Qualifications
Driving licence, a full clean UK driving licence is essential, along with confidence driving a commercial medium-sized service van. Due to our commercial fleet vehicle insurance restrictions, candidates must be aged 25 or over.
Problem-solving skills, we look for candidates who are mechanically minded with the ability to diagnose minor faults or follow basic technical troubleshooting steps.
Physical fitness is important because the role is active and physical, involving regular lifting, carrying heavy cases of drinks and ingredients, and moving stock in and out of vehicles throughout the day.
Reliability, you will need strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently and responsibly without direct supervision.
Background check requirement, because you will be accessing a variety of secure commercial, industrial, or educational client sites, a standard or enhanced DBS check may be required, which will be arranged and paid for by the company.
