ABOUT THE ROLE

As the IT Project and Programme Manager, you will lead and organise the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust Healthy Organisation programme. Your role is to make sure everyone understands what needs to be done, who is responsible for each task, and how progress is tracked. You will keep everything clearly structured, with regular updates and simple governance, so the programme runs smoothly across the whole organisation.

You will also plan, manage and lead IT projects, including new systems and infrastructure. You will guide each project from the start through to completion, making sure it is delivered on time, stays within budget and meets its goals. Your focus will be on keeping projects clear, well organised and achievable so that outcomes are successfully delivered.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will project manage and lead new system and infrastructure projects assigned by the IT Director. You will make sure each project is delivered on time, meets the required quality standards and stays within budget.

You will create, maintain and carry out detailed project plans. These plans will help you manage progress and keep everything on track. When needs or requirements change, you will update these plans so they continue to reflect what is required.

You will also manage the Healthy Organisation programme. This includes making sure all activities, milestones and projects are clearly understood, that the right people take ownership, and that progress is regularly reported to the Performance Portfolio Board.

This role is ideal for someone who is organised and methodical, who also enjoys a challenge and making a difference. You will have the opportunity to deliver organisational change projects that will advance and modernise the charity.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who has experience and understanding in the areas listed below. You don’t need to meet every requirement — if you feel you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply.

You should have experience in project management, including planning projects, managing budgets and handling risks. This means being able to organise work clearly, keep track of costs and identify and manage any potential issues early.

You should hold a recognised project management qualification, such as Prince2 or AgilePM. This shows that you understand structured ways of delivering projects successfully.

You should be able to work well with senior colleagues. This includes building strong working relationships, working together effectively, and supporting discussions and decision-making in a clear and constructive way.
