Summary
About the Role
Placed within the Energy and Environment Team the purpose of this role is to facilitate continuous improvement in the University’s waste and recycling systems, campus grounds, pest control and sustainable travel infrastructure. The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of efficient, effective and customer- focused environmental services provided by term and approved contractors, supporting delivery of relevant strategic environmental objectives and targets.
About You
We are looking for someone with degree or equivalent NVQ level qualifications / experience, with exceptional organisational skills, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to influence stakeholders including motivating contractor delivery teams. You should be someone with an understanding of current environmental issues, excellent computer skills and knowledge of relevant legalisation. Experience of contract management is a must, as is budget planning and management, and the ability to analyse and manage complex data including service performance metrics, financial information and operational records.

The Energy & Environment Team is part of the Facilities Professional Services Unit, managing energy and environmental issues for the University estate whilst also providing advice and support to the individual faculties, departments and tenants. This includes energy and water procurement, recharging, waste and resources management, grounds management and pest management. The team is also responsible for the University’s Carbon Management Plan, and implementation and development of the Energy and Environmental Management Systems which are certified to ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 standards.
