Summary
You’ll play a vital role in supporting children and families to achieve positive and lasting change. You’ll manage a varied caseload, delivering tailored interventions that respond to each family’s unique circumstances. Working closely with Social Workers and other professionals, you’ll contribute to assessments and help develop family plans that put children’s needs at the heart of decision-making.
Through practical support, relationship-building, and solution-focused interventions, you’ll help families build on their strengths and overcome challenges, making a real difference to their lives.
What you’ll do
• Work directly with children, parents and carers to provide practical and emotional support.
• Support kinship carers and families through assessment, intervention and ongoing support planning within the Family Connections Service.
• Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with professionals and partner agencies.
• Use mediation and negotiation skills to strengthen and improve family relationships.
• Prepare clear reports and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
• Contribute to Special Guardianship Support Plans, targeted assessments and funding applications.
• Organise and facilitate kinship support groups to strengthen peer networks.
• Support access to relevant services and resources.
• Manage duty enquiries and provide timely support to carers and professionals.

• Ability to produce clear reports and use IT systems confidently.
