We are looking for individuals with an NVQ Level 3 that are highly motivated to work with adolescents and their families, using a preventative approach to promote family stability and mitigate the prospect of youth homelessness and youth offending.
Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements.
About You:
Family Help Workers in the Future4Me team act as key workers for families with a range of complex needs; undertaking assessments and delivering and co-ordinating interventions directly to children/young people and their families in a trauma sensitive way.
As a Family Help Worker, you will be responsible for the completion of Child and Family Assessments, Youth Justice Assessments and Interventions and will be required to act as Lead Professional where appropriate.
Family Help Workers also contribute to holistic family work for children subject to Child Protection and Child in Need Plans and those Looked After by the Local Authority.
Family Help Workers must have excellent communication skills as they advocate for and champion adolescents with partner agencies including education, health and housing.
You will be dedicated and passionate about helping improve the lives of adolescents with complex needs in Lincolnshire.
About the Role:
We currently have 1 full-time 12-month fixed-term position based in the Lincoln Restoring Family Relationships Team within Future4Me, working on a county wide basis.
You will be responsible for ensuring the needs of children/young people and their families are appropriately assessed using a range of methods, and working with the family and other professionals to produce a planned programme of support to address the issues or concerns in a comprehensive and co-ordinated way.
You will manage and conduct a range of complex assessments and reports and will contribute to the planning and reviewing of cases across a broad variety of practice, from diversionary work to early interventions. You will be required to travel and work in a timely and flexible manner to undertake the duties of the role and there is some element of evening and weekend work where cases require it.
You will also be required to work on a duty basis for part of the week.
This can be a demanding role however one that brings great job satisfaction.
About the Team:
Future4Me launched Countywide in February 2019 and brought together the Council's core offer to adolescents by building on the Youth Offending Team, Youth Hub and Family Help. Focusing on supporting children aged 14-18, we have a dedicated team with a focus on youth housing, diversion for youth justice, child exploitation and community interventions as well as our Complex Needs Service.
Future4Me operates on a County-wide basis and focuses on multi-agency working, using Trauma Informed Practice and Restorative Principles to deliver a package of support.
Restoring Family Relationships: Working to achieve stability and reconciliation:
Established in December 2020, the Restoring Family Relationships (RFR) Team sits within Future4Me. RFR is an innovative team dedicated to mitigating family conflict, maintaining family stability, preventing family breakdown and reducing the number of late entrants into the care system. Utilising restorative principles, the RFR Team ensures there is a timely response to family conflict and promotes reconciliation and parent/carer accountability to avoid children having to leave their family home where appropriate.
The RFR Team operates within Future4Me on a County wide basis and focuses on multi-agency working, using a Trauma Informed Approach and Family Finding techniques to support those young people aged 16 and 17, not currently accessing support from any other service, who are at risk of homelessness. The RFR Team also provides support to 14 and 15-year-olds at risk of family relationship breakdown on a preventative basis and offers wrap around support for other practitioners in the Local Authority.
What you can expect from us:
You will receive an in-depth induction, a managed caseload, regular case supervision and on-going training. We offer a number of great benefits which include a competitive salary, an excellent pension, a car lease scheme, flexible working conditions and much more.
