Summary
Would you like to be part of a small friendly team of PA’s, providing support and care for a gentle young gentleman of 23 yrs. Experience would be gained in Autism and associated needs? Applicants need to be honest, kind, friendly and observant.
• Someone who provides positive company and enjoys visiting National Trust properties, going for drives, walks, watching birds, picnics, shopping, leisure-centre based activities and music.
• A person who can encourage and support in daily living skills/routines
• To physically help where the skill base has yet to develop e.g. making snacks/lunch, personal care when needed and enabling him to keep personal spaces clean and tidy.
• To be a good mentor
• A car driver, with own car and business insurance
• To be able to communicate well with other PA’s. • Keep records and attended training sessions and monthly meetings
Experience in caring would be an advantage but more importantly we need someone who has a kind and cheerful disposition, with good observation skills and a willingness to learn. As a successful applicant you would be eased into the role with training and support from other PA’s. DBS check and references will be necessary before any 1-1 sessions could commence.

About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support to get to and from school/work/college/social activities.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
Only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position as you will be required to administer medication.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
Transport Requirement:
Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

When you are Required:
Hours per week: 10.5 hours possibility of more hours
• Tuesday, 9.30 -1pm
• Thursday, 9.30-1pm
• Friday, 1pm - 4.30pm
