Job Description
We are seeking a warm, reliable and engaging Personal Assistant to provide social and practical support to an adult with ADHD and executive dysfunction. This role would suit someone who is naturally sociable, patient, kind and emotionally intelligent, with a good sense of humour and a genuine interest in supporting someone to live an active, creative and socially connected life.

The successful candidate will be able to build a trusting, respectful relationship, understand neurodivergent needs, and provide encouragement without pressure. You will bring calm, positivity and flexibility, helping the individual feel confident, supported and able to enjoy activities that matter to them.
An interest in the arts, culture, and creative or social activities is highly desirable, as the role focuses on enabling participation in social, artistic and community-based experiences.

Due to the nature of the role you must be able to drive.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one social support to encourage participation in community, cultural, artistic and social activities
• Accompany the individual to social outings such as cafés, meals, events, exhibitions, workshops or creative activities
• Offer gentle structure and prompts to support executive functioning (e.g. planning, time awareness, preparation for outings)
• Support confidence-building in social situations, respecting sensory needs, energy levels and personal boundaries
• Help reduce anxiety around transitions, new environments or unfamiliar situations through reassurance and clear communication
• Encourage independence while providing appropriate support, adapting your approach to suit changing needs
• Maintain a positive, non-judgemental and person-centred approach at all times

The purpose of this role is to support the individual to enjoy a rich, active and fulfilling social and artistic life, helping them feel confident, included and empowered within their community.

The PA is not permitted to smoke during working hours, there are no pets within the home.

Hobbies and Interests
The person seeking PA support is an incredibly social and outgoing individual with a wide range of hobbies and interests. They love taking part in creative activities, such as attending art classes. They’re also an active member of a drama group and this year they are performing in the pantomime! Alongside their creative hobbies, they have a strong interest in current affairs and like to stay well-informed about what’s happening in the world. Their enthusiasm for art, culture, and conversation makes them a warm and engaging person to support.

Hours Per Week

The role is for 10 hours per week, the hours will be used flexibly, for support in the evening and including. Including support over the weekend.

Hourly rate for an employed PA is £14 per hour.
