We are seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support the Facilities Manager in enhancing and transforming the client experience across a mixed-use Bedford site (50% labs / 50% office).​

This role is largely administrative, with responsibility for team management, audits and inspections, and day-to-day coordination of soft services.

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive, customer-focused individual to ensure a consistent workplace experience, deliver workplace changes, and act as a key point of contact for stakeholders.​

You will deputise for the Facilities Manager, oversee service delivery, and help create a seamless, positive experience for all employees, guests, and clients in line with ISS values.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Facilities Manager and deputise as required

Own and manage FM soft service delivery across the site

Manage a team of 4 cleaners and 3 security guards (24-hour coverage)

Plan and coordinate moves and changes, including stakeholder engagement

Conduct audits and inspections to ensure service standards are maintained

Manage on-site contractors and oversee vending services

Process payroll for site-based teams

Implement workplace initiatives (e.g. touchpoints, team boards) and drive continuous improvements

Make recommendations to enhance service delivery and workplace experience

Promote a calm, confident, and proactive approach to all customer interactions

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Strong customer and client focus, with experience in a customer-facing Facilities Management environment

Team player with experience working within a contract, project, or facilities management team

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and deliver clear messages

Ability to build relationships and identify mutually agreeable solutions

Flexible approach, with willingness to work out of hours to support service delivery where required
