About The Role
The School of Management is recruiting a research assistant to work on a multi-disciplinary project in collaboration with the School of Medicine. The project is focused on the use of immersive simulation for culturally inclusive decompression utilising VR.

This BA Leverhulme small research grants, Wellcome funded project, investigates how immersive environments can support general decompression, that can be used in multiple sectors and settings around the world to aid wellbeing and recovery in culturally inclusive ways.

Utilising simulation, VR and immersion the project will design and pilot immersive “decompression” experiences, drawing on arts and humanities research in cultural wellbeing, sensory design, and experience narrative.

The project explores how cultural perspectives shape experiences of stress and relaxation. The aim is to advance understanding of cultural inclusivity in digital decompression design to provide a foundation for future interdisciplinary and applied research in decompression health technologies.
